About Us
Solstice is a small Cardigan Welsh Corgi hobby kennel located in the metro Atlanta area. Established in 1995 I started like many people do with one dog. That dog was a crazy German Shorthaired Pointer named Siegfried the Bad. How I loved that dog but he was crazy. I tried everything and one of those things was an obedience class at the Rio Grande Obedience Dog Club. I met some great people who loved dogs and I started getting involved with dog sports. I decided I wanted to show dogs and with help from the local GSP clubs, El Paso Del Norte GSP Club and the GSP Club of Las Cruces I got involved in conformation as well. I spend a year studying the sport both as a club member and a member of the New Mexico Stewards Association and learned much about what to expect in the breed ring. I had the wonderful opportunity to help with the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America’s National Specialty show which gave me the opportunity to see lots of dogs. Because I spent time studying or because I got unbelievably lucky (the real reason) I started with a great dog and even greater mentors.

I am just learning about Corgis and am interested in whether or not there are any litters coming available soon that we could inquire into. We are interested in a female, black and white or red and white. Could someone let me know if this is a possibility?
Thanks,

Hi Janan,
There are several up comming litters in the area. My friend Harry of Arylan Kennels in NM has puppies now and a litter coming later. We are expecting puppies from our PJ later in the fall.
Check out Harry’s website http://www.arylan.com or my website.
Hi Jinnie,
Just wondering if you’ve had any luck with that Fertile Focus? I’m just finding out about it now and wondering if I can use it up until I confirm with a progesterone test for ovulation? I’m trying to get around doing multiple progesterone tests to the tune of $100- + bucks a crack.
Thanks!
It’s hard to read, I wouldn’t count on it if you are trying to do AI or ship semen, or at least until you practiced getting the saliva in the right place and get used to looking at it.
My husband and I already have a brown & white corgi, her name is Indy and she is 2. We have loved our Corgi so much that we now want another, but we would like a black and white or tri-color. I am a school teacher and have the summer off to train and work with the puppy. Do you know of anyone I can contact that would have any puppies ready now, or that would be ready soon?
Thank you,
Michelle

We rescued our 4 year old Cardi in May 2009. Diezel is so smart and so lovable. I can’t believe anyone would get rid of him due to “allergies”. IF you move quickly by his head he will jump back so I think he was not treated nicely before. He sure is spoiled now. He is so beautiful too. In our little town people are not familiar with Cardigan Welsh Corgi’s so he is the hit of the neighborhood and absolutely loves the attention.
Good for you and Diezel! They are crowd pleasers!
Hi Jinnie,
My name is Alden Murray. I have 2 C-Myste dogs. You may have seen me in Dixon. I don’t show, but Fig (C-Myste Baledwr Fig Jam) was there to cheer on his brother C-Myste Baledwr Whomping Willow. He’s the pretty blue puppy dog who does show. Fig is blk/wht w/ brindle points. He has a very distinctive white, freckled ear. He’s a cutie!
My other dog is C-Myste Nobody’s Fool (Duncan). Dunc was the sire of Carolyn’s Drunken Duncan litter. He has a very famous son named Riley.
Anyway…I see from your Blog that you know Donna Daniels. I sent her an e-mail on Monday, but if you see/ speak to her, could you please tell her that the love of my life, C-Myste Smokin’ Axel went to the Bridge on 8/7. He died peacefully in my arms, surrounded by the vets who loved him too. His poor old heart finally gave out. It was the saddest day of my life. I loved himto the point of obsession.
Hiope all is well in TX, and let me know the next time you’ll be at a show in CA.
And if you ever see a completely white-faced mismark, with two black ears, please send him my way. 😉
Take care,
Alden
I’m sorry you lost your Axel, it is hard to lose your friends 😦 but I have passed your note along to Donna.
I probably did see you in Dixon, the Richmond DFA is my club and I come up every year, I was wizing around on a golf cart most of the weekend.
PJ’s 1st litter had a couple of mismark brindles and they are cute with their white faces. But then I think they are all cute.
Again, sorry for the loss of your friend but at least you have a couple of wonder dogs to hug.
