GCh Mariels Flying Spirit, RN, FDC January 17, 2007 – April 23, 2021 Forever tucked into my heart

PJ, Ch. Mariel’s Flying Spirit, RN (Ch. Warwick Larchmonts Bodacious x Ch. Myrddin Scotch Mist). Bred by Marian Mizelle and Helen Jones.
Pj, was named by his breeder Marian in honor of his mother the beautiful red girl Spirit and given his call name to honor the late Pat Jensen who owned his sire Bo. He must have been destined to live here at Solstice since his Flying Spirit name fits right in with the rest of the Cardi gang. Of course around here he is loving referred to as Porky Joe since he loves food!

Pj had a quick flight to his Championship. He was awarded 13 points and 3 majors out of the 6 -9 puppy class and finished up with his final points coming the 1st time in the 9-12 puppy class. He began his show career at 6 months and 2 days old at the Bluebonnet CWC Specialty in conjunction with Reliant Center Dog Shows in Houston, Texas where Breeder Judge Steve Gladstone awarded PJ Winner’s Dog and Best Puppy for a 5 point major. After his debut in Houston he went to 3 more show weekends with me where he was awarded an additional 8 points. That included 3 BOB wins (2 of which were majors) and a Best Puppy and Puppy Group 2 all from the 6 – 9 puppy class. His final 2 points were awarded in Tulsa where he was shown by his Co-Owner Kathy Davis of Dwysan where he was WD/BOW/BOS to finish his Championship.
Kathy and I were very proud of PJ and his performance at the 2008 CWCCA Nationals. PJ was awarded Runner-up Brindle Dog in the Megan competition, 4th place in the 12-15 sweepstakes class and made 3 of 4 cuts in Best of Breed.
PJ is proving to be as handsome inside as he is outside. He is cleared for PRA thru his parents and is OFA Good, Cardiac and CERF clear. He is a DM carrier and does carry for fluff and the ee gene.
PJ is such a biddable guy, he completed the requirements for his RN with very little training and he is passing those traits on to his kids both as fun performance dogs and great companions. He has only been bred a few times but his kids are Champions and Group Placers. They are also high performing agility dogs competing at the excellent and beyond level. They are fast and biddable as his kids are also completing in herding, obedience and rally trials as well.
