A Frost Report

August 7, 2009

I’m mad!  Momma calls me fat Frost and says I’m a porky girl, she is hardly feeding me and tonight she filled my bowl with green beans!  What is up with that?  So I like food and take after my daddy PJ aka Porky Joe.

I’m not fat, I’m fluffy!

Stay cool,

Frost out

Yes, and PJ has another child in WI that likes his food real well. Do a little more chasing around, Frost. That should help!

Mom Pip is also on a diet but she gets yummy pumpkin in her 1/2 cup of kibble. You need to tell your Mom that pumpkin tastes way better than green beans. We’re hoping a little weight loss will help Pip be a faster agility dog. A diet for Polly would be a good idea too!

    Grandma Polly,

I’ll tell Mom that I want some pumpkin. She says I’m getting fat eating figs and the beans for the mesquite trees at Yappy Hour. I still say I’m starving and that I’m just fluffy not fat!

    Hey Frost,

I’ve been sent to a fat farm, because I hear the same things here. Man, am I ever tired of having my food rationed. Mom says my head looks small, because I’m so round.

Katie keeps taking me out to romp and run. I say that Round is a body type, just like long and lean. It sure doesn’t help that my new brother, Teddy/Henry, can eat anything he wants and not put on a pound.

    It’s not fair at all!

    Phoe!

It just isn’t fair, I agree, Round is a Shape! I know when Teddy H lived here he always got lots more food than everyone else and sometimes he left some of it and I would run into his crate to try and clean his bowl. Steal Food, it is a good skill!

Don’t worry Frost – you’ll thin up a bit and then Mom will give you some extra kibble. =)

Our vet put one of our Corgi mixes on a diet of less kibble and more green beans and now we walk 2.5 miles 3 nights a week and we are seeing a big difference! I can see her waist now and her belly goes up and not straight across. If she keeps up the good work, she will get more kibble a few nights a week!

P.S. Are you one of the only Cardigan breeders in TX?

Yep Momma says I need to lose a few I still say I’m fluffy not fat!

There are several breeders in Texas, where are you located?

  7. August 14, 2009 12:30 pm

I am in North Dallas. I have two Pembroke mixes, but I really like Cardigans too.

    Where are the other breeders?

    • August 14, 2009 3:04 pm

There are about 39 members of the CWCCA that live in Texas, not all of them are breeders but there are a lot of us. Are you looking for a puppy or just some Cardi folks to hook up with?

I like Pems too, my best friend Leslie Reed of KeelMtn Corgis have Pems so I keep up with them too.

No puppies for awhile – our little one is about 10 months old now – and there is no way I could handle three dogs. Haha.

I just wanted to know if there were any in my area and if they frequent dog parks or anything like that. I’d love for my little ones to have little Corgi buddies.

There are 4 or 5 members in the DFW area. Elizabeth McNair is in Irving and she might have an idea where the other folks hang out elizabethsmacnair@yahoo.com

Frost is 8 months old and little Bailey is 5 1/2 months old. Puppies are busy!

Oh Jinnie, Miss Frost is actually 9 months old now. Hard to believe isn’t it?

      • August 15, 2009 5:25 am

Yes it is August already isn’t it. Time flies!

Oh yeah. If you go to my blog, you can see the two on the opening page. Reelee is the black one and is the puppy. His favorite thing to do is to eat stuff on the ground – doesn’t matter what it is. Maeby is our older one and she just watches him and thinks, “I am so glad I am not in that stage of life anymore.” Haha.

I’ll email Elizabeth and see if she or any other Corgi owners visit the small dog park close to us. We’re in Farmers Branch.

    Thanks! =)
