Play Ball!
Take me out to the ball game, buy me some Hot Dogs and Ice Cream sandwiches……………
Ok that isn’t how the song goes but that is how the Solstice Gang was singing it in Sunday. We went to the Diablos baseball game’s annual Bark in the Park. In addition to the dogs being allowed at the game they had $.25 hot dog and ice cream sandwiches. You can guess what part of the game the dogs liked best.
The dogs didn’t really get into the game but enjoyed trolling for food and scritches, the baby pools the park had set up for them and the tons of pets and pats. Fifi was the social butterfly of the group happy to meet everyone. Banner is more reserved but she was pretty relaxed and happy to eat hot dogs. Sienna tried to drink Mom’s beer but being a minor and a dog we didn’t let her have any beer.
The 4 Solstice dogs participated in the dog parade on the baseball field representing responsibly bred purebred dogs along with the dogs from El Paso Great Dane Rescue and the El Paso Humane Society dogs. Banner wanted to know what those men were doing in the dugout and Fifi wanted to eat the grass.
All in all we had a good time, we stayed thru the 7th inning stretch and then headed home. Glad we had the dogs to entertain us since the Diablos were behind by 12 when we left. It was sort of a crazy ball game.
Poor Sienna had to watch the game from Mom’s lap
Cody and Charlie not watching the game
