Waiting for news
Part of the fun of having an extended Doggy Family is sometimes you just get to sit home and wait for news. This past weekend was one of those weekends.
PJ’s brother Harvey (Ch. Mariel’s Harvest Moon) got group placements this weekend, including a Group 1.
Harry was in OKC with Chickie and June Carter and Chickie (http://www.arylan.com/Chickie%20Page.htm) was WB/BW for a major, which was very cool.
But the very coolest news was a call from my good friend Phyllis of Philmac Tollers (http://home.comcast.net/~philmactollers/) called me that her young special Ranger (Ch. Javahill Backwoods Boy, RN) was awarded BEST IN SHOW! The Holy Grail of the dog show world. I was so happy for Ranger’s team. It was great that the judge awarded the BIS to a basically unknown dog shown by a Jr. Handler. Ranger is Phyllis’ hunting buddy and all around good buddy. He isn’t on the show circuit and isn’t advertised. He is a very nice dog that lives in a small town in New Mexico and isn’t shown very much. This is sort of a small town boy makes good story. But the thing is, is that Ranger is a very nice dog. He is like a lot of really nice dogs, he lives a great life as some one beloved pet and on occasion he goes out to be a show dog. One of the nicest dogs you’ll never see because he lives in a backyard instead of on a show circuit. So congratulations TEAM Ranger on your success!
I can’t wait to see what happens next weekend!
Girls on the Go
Hey it’s me Frost! and Bailey!
“Hush twerp, I’ll tell this story”
Anyway, it’s me Frost and I’m a STAR!

We had graduation from our STAR class, I know I was the best! Charlie graduated too. Grandma, Bailey and the Flea were there to watch our graduation. Momma said she was proud of me and the I’ll get a certificate and everything, dang I’m good! Momma said she was proud of Charlie too but I know I was the best!
After class, Auntie Cody asked if we got our passing surpise, Momma said yes but we dogs didn’t know what that was but it sounded good.
We got back in our van and went to another place, it had lots of plants and some really pretty grass. We met Deb, the head grower of the plants and Scooter, the store dog and a bunch of kids. Momma said it was called Sierra Vista Growers http://www.sierravistagrowers.net/. Momma bought some plants and Grandma bought a tree, Charlie asked me if I thought he would be able to pee on it later, I told him I didn’t see why not since that is what boys did all the time anyway.

The people were hungry so they wanted lunch, we dogs wanted lunch too but we were not invited to lunch. We hung out in our van, Momma got us all set under a pecan tree with our fans and shades and they went in to have lunch while we guarded the van. There were a bunch of noise motorcycles around and Bailey was scared of them and kept barking at them.
“I wasn’t scared! I was just taking care of our stuff”
She was scared, she just won’t admit it, such a twerp! Anyway, we dogs were trying to nap but Momma and Cody kept coming out every few minuets to check on us and waking us up. Eventually they finished their lunch and told us it was time for our surprise.
ICE CREAM!!!!

We stopped at Stahmann Farms http://www.stahmanns.com/ and sat on their porch and ate ice cream. The Flea even got some, it got stuck all in her beard, I tried to clean her face but she didn’t seem to like that too much. Lots of people stopped to talk to us and we had our nice manners on and were very good dogs.
It was a very fun day!
Stay Cool! Frost out.
Hey, it’s Bailey, it’s my turn now!
I like ICE CREAM!
Thats all,
Bailey out
Bailey’s Business
It’s Bailey!
I had a real fun night, I got to go to Grandma’s house with Momma, just me! The Flea was there and a bunch of ladies who thought I was so cute, which I am.
They were playing a game so the Flea and I played our own games. We ran all around Grandma’s house and under the tables where the ladies were playing their games. I was real interest in the game. It was called Bunko and they were throwing these little things around on the table. Momma let me sit in her lap to watch.

Momma was hoping I would bring her luck, but I didn’t. I did have fun and once I was even able to grab the dice but they wouldn’t let play, I don’t really know why, I think Icould have won. Tomorrow we go to the Farmer’s Market and to see Frost and Charlie try and graduate from their Star class, maybe something fun will happen tomorrow.

Skywatch Friday
I haven’t had a skywatch photo in awhile, I raised puppies and then got busy and the El Paso summer skies are mostly just blue. We had some rain the other day and there was an amazing double rainbow. I only had the camera on my phone and these don’t do the sky justice. For more wonderful skies check out Skywatch http://skyley.blogspot.com/.

The same day as the rainbows a dear friend lost her beloved dog. We were together when we saw the rainbows and I told her it was her girl letting her know she was waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Frost and the Flea
All the Cardigans are doing well with the Sienna but Frost is really good with her.

Midsummer in New Mexico
This weekend we made a trip to Northern New Mexico, our main mission was to meet Henry’s new family in Santa Fe. We had a lovely meeting and Henry is now happily settling in to his new life in Boulder, Co with the Huffman Family. It was fun to meet Phoebe, the Mensa Pup, she PJ’s daughter and Frost’s sister, she sure looks like her Daddy. Henry will have a new name in Colorado, he will now be known as “Teddy” as his Mom, Margaret, says he reminds them of a Teddy Bear. I told them I don’t think he will care what they call him, as long as they call him for dinner! He and Phoebe have their own blog so we are hoping to see lots of reports from them over the summer. I miss him already but I know he will be enjoying his retirement.
Since we were in Santa Fe we took advantage of going down to spend the Summer Solstice at the Plaza. There was an Arts and Crafts festival going on so there was lots to look at.

We had great parking Karma and we found a great close parking spot to park the mini RV. It allowed me to leave the a/c running and let the dogs hang out in the cool. I took them out two at a time and they really had a great time. They were a big hit and just soaked up the attention. I was amazed at the number of people who recognized them as Corgis and then a few even knew they were Cardigans.
PJ had the best time of all the dogs, but I think Bailey was the most popular since she a cute baby!

He really enjoyed the grass in the park.
I was so proud of them, lots of people, kids, feet, dogs and noise and all of them right down to the baby had a fun time and enjoyed the day. They were wonderful breed ambassadors.

One of the vendors even gave them a drink from a lovely pottery bowl she had made. They got a drink from a piece of art.
After the festival it was time to head home and it was nice to have daylight most of the way home, it was after 9pm before it was full dark and we were almost home by then. A nice way to welcome summer.
The Flea goes to the Farm
Little Sienna has been with us for almost a week and Ginger (aka Mom) is already spoiling her rotten! She is so happy to have her own dog in her house again.
All my workmates at the Farm (State Farm) wanted to see her and demanded that Ginger bring her by for a visit. She was a HIT! Several of them offered to steal her.
My co-worker Clare took these photos while everyone was loving on her.

The Cardis are being really good with her, Bailey and Frost think she is there to play with them and Lindy being a good Momma dog is always trying to get her to play. The boys don’t exactly know what to make of her but they are being good.
I’ve taken to calling her the flea, she is so little and she is so funny when she runs around after the Cardis. Ginger gets mad and tells me “don’t call my baby a flea” but I just can’t help it.
Puppy Love
http://stubbydog.wordpress.com/
Our friend Jeri in Alabama has a new litter of 9 puppies. Check them out for your puppy fix.
Tutoring
Remember that Far Side Cartoon about the dog thinking he was getting Tutored when he was really getting Neutered. Well poor Henry went to see Dr. Robin for his tutoring and now he is neutered. He did so well and he is doing very well, he hasn’t even had to wear his cone of shame all the time.
Once Henry has completed his recovery he will be moving to Boulder, Colorado where he will join Frost’s sister Phoebe as a cherished family member.
I’m excited for him and I know his new family will love him even more than I do. Phoebe and soon Hank have their own blog. http://cardis80301.wordpress.com/
Bailey’s business

Hi it’s Bailey,
Wow what a busy day we had today. We got up early and Mom put just me in Grandma’s car and we went for a long ride, about 2 hours and when we stopped it was cool and smelled really good like trees. Mom said we were in Cloudcroft, NM.
When we got out of the car there were all these weird looking little dogs, they had smooshed in noses and funny beardy faces. At first I was kinda afraid of them but after a few minutes it was OK, I wanted to play with them but I was out numbered.

After awhile Grandma said I was getting a new sister and her name would be Sienna. Funny for a sister she doesn’t look like Bonnie or Frost.

Grandma really liked her and said she was coming home with us, she will live with Grandma but we will see her all the time at yappy hour.
After the drive home we went to a party with Auntie Cody, I thought Charlie would be there but he wasn’t there. There were lots of little people who thought we were great, they all wanted pick us up but Momma would let them. We were really good!
We finally came home but I’ll get to see Charlie tomorrow cause we are all going to school.
Bailey out!
