This and that and the AOH class
We had a good time in Tucson even if it wasn’t as successful as I would have liked.
I had a bunch entered, Sienna the Griff, Lindy, Bailey, Frost and Charlie were also all entered. We ended up with a major RWB on Sienna and Charlie was RWD two of the three days. On Saturday I won all the blue ribbons 🙂 but no purple ones. But everyone showed nice in strong competition. Another plus was that the puppy girls Banner and Mandy were super good on their 1st road trip.
I entered the amateur Owner Handler class for the 1st time. I’m proud to show my own dogs so I thought “why not”. I was disappointed in the response I got from some of the judges. Sienna, Lindy and Charlie were entered in the AOH with Frost entered in 12-18 and Bailey in BBE. One day the Brussels Griffon judge spent a lot of time explaining her ring procedures to me (single entry in AOH). I watched the rest of the entry and she did not do that with the other classes. In Cardis the next day when handing me the RWD ribbon the judge said “you won’t be eligible for this class much longer” I took that as a compliment on my handling but I was very disappointed that the judges treated the class like it was Novice handler class. It is a shame that the folks who are supposed to know the rules don’t.
I’m not sure if I will use the class again. I have 4 bitches to enter at our next show and I might just for scheduling purposes but I don’t know if I’ll use it as an Owner Handler showcase class which is what it was supposed to be.
Love the puppy faces photo. They look sooooo cute! Congratulations on all the ribbons with all the initials that go with the classes. I only just have a tiny clue what they all mean, but I know that blue ribbons are good! Hope all of you , two and four legged, have a happy spring weekend……..from the WI crew, two and four legged.
