Fifi’s new home
A bittersweet day yesterday as Fifi moved to her new home with the Pearce family in Jacksonville, Fl.
It is always harder for me to place an older dog than a puppy. Fi was my dog where puppies are always expected to be headed to a new home. We are going to miss her funny little face but I am so happy she is going to be a beloved pet and a young friend to her new 14 year old red cardi brother Stoney.
She has a pretty nice view from her new back yard.
She does love the water.
Sneaking up on her new brother.
We will look forward to hearing about her new life now and then. I know it will be great!
Rider Puppies
Here are some pictures of some of the Rider (CH Arylan Custom Goldwing).
This is Einie (Oz x Lindy) and Beta (Rider x Frost) who are adored by Tara and Tim in Canada.
These are some of the Arylan kids in Houston the all inherited their love of water from their Grandma Lindy.

Independence Day
We are ready for the 4th of July, our 1st holiday in Georgia. Happy Birthday America!
We are planning on spending it in a truly American fashion, we are going to the baseball game. So we will watch the Atlanta Braves, drink some beer, eat some hot dogs and watch the fireworks. The dogs will celebrate by having us home for most of a four-day weekend and of course they will be safely tucked in at night when the fireworks start.
Banner and Frost show off their 4th finery.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th of July!
Weekend update
We did have some fun this weekend! We also found our silverware so now we don’t have to eat with plastic forks and spoons. Many boxes were unpacked and things are starting to get together. We even had our 1st Watermelon Sunday in Georgia.
Wicca really thought she should come in and help unpack. I am quite sure she would have been so very helpful but I declined her assistance.
Dog world is starting to take shape. 1/2 of the basement is finished (with A/C and heat) and the other 1/2 is set up for storage. Lots and Lots of stuff in the storage area but it is getting better everyday. I know I need a crate intervention. I have about 3-4 crates per dog (or that is what I am admitting to having,) some people have shoes, I have crates. This is a walk out basement so the dogs have access to the yard from the basement. In addition to AC, they have cable TV, a bed and a fridge and microwave. Actually some of that is for the people in case we have to go down for storm purposes.
On Friday we went to the Lilburn Farmer’s market. They have it every Friday evening. I got some herbs to plant and we got some yummy fresh produce.
We also had some porch time, dogs worked hard chasing birds and squirrels in our “forest” so they needed some porch time.
Frost, Queen of the Stump!
Dogs are happy to still have a fig tree, they are picking them green. They want to make sure they beat the birds. This one has a lot of low hanging branches, perfect for Cardigan harvesting. Wicca can reach a bit higher.
And finally, news from Arylan, Rider – Ch Arylan Custom Goldwing (Oz x Lindy) is a poppa. I’m not sure of the momm’a pedigree but looking forward to seeing them grow up. Grandpuppies 🙂
Georgia living
Just so you know we are all still alive here at Solstice “South”, here are some photos of our GA yard and deck. The dogs are enjoying the “green”. Our 22,000 pounds of “stuff” arrived on 6/10 so we are busy unpacking but we are at least moving forward and looking forward to our first doggy events.

Home sweet home
It is always hard for me as a breeder to come to a decision to place a dog I bred and raised and kept for myself as my new show prospect. As breeders every time we match two dogs together and breed a litter we are hoping for 1st and foremost a healthy happy litter of puppies, secondly we are looking for great companions and finally we are looking for our next show champion, a dog that will contribute to the health and welfare of the breed and be fun to show. I had hoped Fifi would fit the bill and be a contributor to my program but alas realistically I know that she is a lovely average Cardigan Welsh Corgi and we strive to be above average.
Fifi has some cosmetic faults that preclude her from being a great show dog or breeding prospect but her virtues are many. She is cute and smart and all Cardigan. She completed her Rally Novice title before she was a year old with scores that earned her invitation to the 2013 AKC Rally National Invitational. She is a moderate girl with correct conformation and could make someone a nice performance dog or even a Jrs dog as I feel she is finishable.
She loves WATER and her pool, she likes to chewies, hooves, rawhides, antlers and to play with stuffy toys. She is good with other dogs but the only cats we know are the intruder cats in our yard. We don’t have kids so I have no idea what she would be like around children. She is good in the house, crate and car. She is an independent girl and is just as happy hanging out with her “pack” or finding a quiet place to chew a chewie or lounge in her pool.
She can be barky, especially in a new situation. I have used the forced air pet corrector to reminder her about her inappropriate barking with good success. She is a thief, we call her Fief sometimes as she will cause a distraction to steal the other dogs chewies (I said she was smart). Of course she is a cardigan so she is smart enough to get into trouble sometimes.
Fifi is officially known as Solstice Fly Girl, RN CGC. Having earned her Rally title and her Canine Good Citizen designation. Her parents are Oz, CH Arylan Mint Proof (Winners Dog at the 2010 CWCCA Nationals) and Lindy, CH Arylan Flying Start. She is 2.5 years old (12/7/2010) and is black and white with brindle points.
I will place her with a spay/neuter contact unless she is going to a potential Jr show home and then a contract will be written with agreeable terms.
Fifi is currently located in El Paso but we are relocating to the Southeast so she will be in the Atlanta, GA area after the 1st week of June. If you are looking for a nice Cardigan companion or performance dog let me know. Please contact me via email right now as I am in transition and I will need to return your call. My email is solsticecwc@gmail.com let me know where you are and what a good time to call will be.
I will tell you her sibling sisters, Einie and Mandy B and CH Rider are well loved companions and that her Grandma Ginger is going to miss her Fief around our house when she finds a home of her own.
A Solstice update
Here an update of cutie pie picture of our little man Beta Boy. Hey is growing up handsome. Living the good life with Einie and his people in Houston.
On our relocation we have found a new home in Lilburn, GA. I am going out first for my work report date and then Mom and the kids will be out at the end of the month. Things are moving along. Lots of stress and drama but hopefully it will be over soon.
And we’re off!
OK not quite but we in going to Atlanta next week to find a place to move and then we will be off.
So we will be off line for awhile. Email still works and look out for new adventures for Solstice!
