Still nothing to see here!

Not much going on at Solstice these days the dog days of summer bring on much laziness! 46 days of 100 degrees or higher so what else should we be doing?
I went on vacation and left the dogs at home with Auntie Cody. It was fun but felt weird to be dogless the whole time.
Miss Fifi is the only one working right now, she is going to Good Manner’s class with Miss Dina at K9 Funworks on Thursday night. She is being a pretty good girl.
We are still doing our 5am walks, two of the dogs get to go each morning, I take a brindle and a tri everyday so they have their walking buddy, PJ and Lindy, Frost and Banner and Bailey and Fifi. I’m sure the other park walkers think I bring the same two dogs every day.
We had the Mesilla Valley KC match this past weekend, Fifi went along for the ride since I was Secretary so I didn’t get to enter a dog but we ran around the ring after the match and played show dog. She is doing well, which is a good thing since she is entered in 8 shows in October 6 of which should be majors. After the match we went to Brunch at Ripe Eatery here on the Westside of El Paso, another dog friendly patio.
After the Labor Day holiday we will start our Handling Practices in Lomaland Park once again. All the local dog fanciers are invited to attend, just ask for details. All the girls will be entered in the shows so it is time for us to practice.

I think it was 102 today no wonder they are in the pool!
Vacay

We are having a lovely time in Northern New Mexico. My birthday was fun yesterday and tomorrow we are off to the music festival. The weather has been great, cool and rainy. The rain hasn’t bothered us at all I just hope it is nice tomorrow.
Miss the woofs but they are hanging with Auntie Cody.
What? No Dogs!
Tomorrow I am going on a no agenda vacation without dogs and without a dog event. I can’t even remember the last time that happened. I’ll probably be asking random people to pet their dogs.
I’ll be in the cooler climate of Northern New Mexico. I’ll get to visit with my cousin Bonnie and her little boys Joe and Will. Other than a couple days of family visiting the only other agenda item on the week long trip will be to attend the 3rd Annual Taos Mountain Music Festival on Sunday http://taosmountainmusicfestival.com/. Oh and sleeping in past 6:30am every day!
Thank goodness Auntie Cody along with Charlie and Bonnie, is coming over to stay with the Solstice gang. I got them 2 watermelons to tide them over until I get home.
I’m sure I will be sharing my non doggy trip on my doggy blog. I hope the Cardis aren’t accessing my blog so they won’t know I am having fun without them.

Who is this?
Wearing a different hat

Today I got to judge the herding puppy group at the Richmond Dog Fanciers in Dixon, CA. I had FUN! But how could it not be fun to judge puppies. I had lovely puppies but my pick today was a lovely Terv, 2nd was the Aussie, 3rd the Sheltie and the Smooth Collie was 4th. Best Puppy in Show went to the Rottie from the working group.
The weather was lovely today, at least for this hot Texan anything under 90 is wonderful!
Tomorrow we finish off the 2011 addition of RDF.
