A Frost report
Hey it’s me Frost!
Mom hasn’t let us blog in a while but I’m such a good girl that I get to report on our day. It was a nice spring day today and when Mom got home she decided to take little Banner to the park, Mom says she forgets she has feet so she was going to take her to the park to see if she remembered she had them. She said I was such a good girl that I was the one to take Banner for a walk. She also said “Bailey” didn’t get to go since she had a stinky butt. I think it was just cause I’m the good girl.
We met Auntie Cody and Charlie at the park and I started to teach Banner how to walk, we saw other dogs and met some people in the park. Banner was brave and I of course minded my manners and we got lots of pets. A rude little ratty dog came up and tried to mess with us but we were good and just ignored him. He was even smaller than Sienna so we were not worried about him, he was a rude dog and his person didn’t make him behave.
Mom said she was very proud of my good example and that maybe we will go again tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good Friday!
Stay cool!
Frost out.
Just one left
Just one of the PJ kids is left looking for her own home. PJ and June’s pretty Tri girl is still available over at Arylan and is looking for her own home. She is a lovely puppy and one of my favorites. If she hadn’t had a blue eye Harry and I would still be fighting over her. She has a great outgoing personality and will make a wonderful companion. We are having a great time with her sister Mandy at Solstice.
You can see a photo and information about pretty Tri at Arylan’s site www.arylan.com
The 1st Birthday Party
Sunday was the babies 1st birthday, hard to believe it has been a year. Only Zippy was missing from the party but it is a long way from WI to TX for a party. We missed him but know he had a good time at home with his family.
Grandma baked a banana dog cake from the Three Dog Bakery cookbook. Boy that was a big hit, the sharks swallowed it whole.
Auntie Cody brought everyone toys for their Birthday and I got special birthday cookies for everyone at the Glamor Pooch shop.
Bailey and Bonnie also celebrated their 1st birthday by coming in season the next day.
I know it was wrong but I couldn’t help it
A product endorsement – A`propos Conversation Shoes
Dog Show women are always looking for shoes, shoes that we can run in, shoes that don’t hurt our feet, shoes that don’t look UGLY with a nice suit, we need shoes. Well I found some and want to share my find. I bought these shoes from a kiosk outside Faneuil Hall in Boston. They are made by a local Boston-based company. I got them in September but due to some unfortunate events I didn’t get the correct size shoe until just a few weeks ago. I haven’t worn them to a show yet but I’ve worn them at work and I ran around the yard and parking lots in the to see how they felt. I liked them so much I just ordered a second pair. You can see their styles on their website:

They had great customer service, quickly fixed our size mistake (it was a busy day at the kiosk and I brought the wrong size home) and were so nice about the whole thing.
So if you have ouchie feet like I do you might want to give these shoes a try. They are cute, nicely priced and made in America 🙂
Hanging by a thread
Sienna loves her Cardigans. She likes to sleep with them, curled up against their bellies. Her favorite target/pillow is her BFF Bailey but if Bailey isn’t in the right spot she will chose another warm Cardi Body. Last night while we were watching the Olympics, Lindy got in the dog chair and went to sleep. Sienna decided to join her but Lindy was sleeping on the edge of the chair. This didn’t deter the Flea and she fell asleep in this position. I snapped this with the phone camera since I knew as soon as I moved Lindy would too and dump Sienna on the floor. They stayed like this for a while, I just knew the Flea was going to slide right off the chair but she never did.

The WKC Effect
I always find it interesting the effect the Westminster Kennel Club has on a breed’s audience. PJ’s brother Harvey won the breed at the Garden on Monday and traffic on the blog site increased beyond it’s normal everyday audience. There were 20+ hits as a direct result of people searching for information on Harvey, his pedigree, his Breeder Marian Mizelle and his kennel name Mariel Cardigans. I remember when the lovely GSP, Ch Kan-Point’s VJK Autumn Roses won BIS at the Garden in 2005 (pre blog days) my little Solstice website counter went nuts. Windy was her 1/2 sister and I got tons of emails afterwards for people looking for GSP puppies. I’m betting the Scottie breeders are experiencing much the same today.

So my advise to the searchers, enjoy your reseach but keep at it. Not every breed is right for every home. Just because you are attracted to a breed doesn’t mean it is the right match for you. As a child I begged for a Scottie, I loved them and had a stuffed black one that I toted around forever but knowing what I know about Scotties and the Terrier group in general, I know they were not the right breed of dog for our family. Maybe they are for yours but make sure and don’t just fall for a cute face.
If that cute face you fell in love with at the Garden belongs to a Cardigan Welsh Corgi I’d be happy to talk to you about the pros and cons of the breed and see if the face you love fits your families lifestyle.
Congratulations to all the WKC winners and losers, making it to dogdoms superbowl is a honor in itself, you all ROCK!
