Happy Birthday to me – A Frost Report
Hey it’s me Frost!
And today is my birthday! I’m a year old today! I want to wish my brothers and sisters happy birthday too!
Momma says we are going to have a birthday party but not until tomorrow, Charlie and Bonnie will come over with Auntie Cody and we will have a play. As long as we get cake I don’t care what day it is.
We haven’t been doing much around here, Daddy dog PJ is still on holiday at Arylan and we miss him, but now we play more with the old man, grouchy uncle Stoney. He likes me (and who doesn’t) so he will play with me. Some days Bailey and I go to work and baby sit the Flea, she doesn’t like to by herself so when Grandma goes away we go next door and stay with her.
I’ll let you know how my party goes!
Happy Birthday to me!
Stay cool,
Frost out

Disappointments for me but Joy for someone else
Dog breeding is filled with disappointments, sometimes small disappointments like not winning the major when you thought you should or missing entries at a show. Sometimes they are bigger like when a pretty puppy with a lovely pedigree doesn’t turn out like you hope. Leslie, Kathy and are are like that with Candy. Our pretty red girl just didn’t reach her potential and Leslie after lots of thought has chosen to retire her from the show ring and our breeding plans. She has had Candy spay and will now make plans for her to go to a forever home where she will be someone’s delightful pet. Candy not only finished her UKC Championship with group placements but she has her CGC and is TDI certified for therapy dog visits. And if smart isn’t enough she has strong health clearances too with OFA excellent hips and she is DM clear. For more Candy info you can visit her page at http://www.keelmtn.com/candy.html . Candy lives in Huntsville, AL
Of course when you decide to place a dog it is always a hard decision, you wonder am I making the right choice and will my dog be happy somewhere else? But then you get emails like this one that makes you know that you did the right thing for your dog. So I know even though Leslie, Kathy and I are disappointed we also know Candy will delight someone as their best friend. Interested parties can contact Leslie at KeelMtn for more information.
Henry’s (now known as Teddy) new family sent this email:
Teddy is LOVING the snow! We got about 15 inches of snow, which at first, he wasn’t quite sure about…there were some huge flakes that were falling on him! He and Phoebe would take turns making paths in the backyard. Then, when I was out front shoveling the driveway (groan!), they were with me, going up and down the block, greeting other neighbors who were shoveling their drives, too. They had a great day!
Planning Planning
Some of my friends all me an Uberplanner but I’m not that bad. I just like looking forward. So here are my plans for the late fall, early winter:
Lindy: Pending unconfirmed litter by Arylan Tribute to Liberty due around 11/28
PJ: PJ will be home from Arylan in the next couple of weeks. Litters pending with June Carter, Aelwyd Arylan I Walk The Line, which will be due around Christmas and Addy, CH Rhys Sweet Adeline, due around the New Year.
The puppies: Frost, Bailey, Charlie and Bonnie will start practicing Rally. We aren’t sure what our plan is for practice yet but Cody and I are going to set up practice times for the Rally.
We won’t be going to another show until Feb. 2010 when we will plan on the Hobbs KC. Of course none of the new babies will be old enough for that show but Harry and I might have our own major later in the season :-). Of course there are several potentially lovely litters in the works in the SW so we are liable to have some fabulous competition by the Fall of 2010.
Plus Sienna aka The Flea should better hair so she will be competitive too.
Fun times are a coming!
Baby pictures
Harry has posted pictures on his puppy page of the new litter. www.arylan.com
4 girls and 5 boys all black and white. Reports are that they are all doing well and Chickie and Harry have gotten some rest.
1st arrivals
**Update 5 boys, 4 girls***
Chickie’s babies at Arylan are finally showing up after Chickie kept her whelper helper Harry awake. So there are 2 b/w boys. Harry is keeping the updates rolling on his Facebook page.
Just to add even more potential puppies to the mix, a 1st breeding of PJ x June Carter happened yesterday.
Puppies coming
Pending arrival at Arylan, poor Chickie is huge but I’m sure she and her whelper helper Harry are up to the job. Latest news is that pre labor has started so hopefully we will have good news later today. I’m sure there will be updates at www.arylan.com, I guessed a litter of 10.
I’m still looking for signs from Lindy Hop, she is still being coy and not letting me know if she is or isn’t. I call Lindy the Heidi Klum of dogs she looks great until she gives birth and then looks great almost as soon as the babies are born. I hope she gives some hints soon.
If those puppies aren’t enough, Keelmtn is expecting a Pembroke litter around Christmas time. Leslie will keep www.keelmtn.com updated with that news.
The last one
We had the last watermelon Sunday today. The dogs and I spent the weekend hanging out at home which was very very nice. Cody came over with the kids and we celebrated the last watermelon before the sun went down.

Sisters

The Flea!

Is she eating for 2 or 6 or..............
I measured Lindy’s waist today and she is an inch bigger than when I picked her up from Arylan does that mean she is expecting or is she eating more? We shall see, it won’t be long before we will know something one way or another.

I’m betting we start getting snow photos soon of this young man in Wisconsin,

They look good and I’m proud of them!
