Happy New Year
Although I slept thru the turning of 2008 to 2009 I’m looking forward to 2009.
We will start the new year off by welcoming a new addition to the Solstice gang. Some time in the next couple of weeks we expect the arrival of Frost or as she will be more formally known as Rockie Top’s Flying Snow. She is the brindle daughter of our PJ and the lovely and talented Pippin. Kathy Davis of Dwysan and I will co own her and she will reside here at Solstice.
We are hoping for some more babies later in the year both here and at our partner’s kennels and of course some success in the show/performance rings. Lindy and Henry both are searching for their final major and PJ will be completing his 1st Rally title and then we will see what else we can accomplish.

Whining
and bitching and moaning and barking and whining and barking and did I mention whining.
The dogs are trying to kill me or at least make me very cranky. I think we are going to try and get a breeding tomorrow, maybe some will SHUT UP!
Ok I’m done whining.
Girls really do choose
Seems like girls really do make the choices. Lindy is all about dancing and flirting with PJ but if Henry gets anywhere near her she tries to rip his face off. Poor guy.
Song and Dance man
Poor Henry, the smell factor is heating up. Lindy and Wicca are now beginning to get really interesting and Henry is very sad. Henry spent the day at Grandma’s and he wasn’t really happy about it and spent his day singing and dancing at the gate, poor guy. PJ is still guarding his girl but he knows nothing is going on yet.
I’m glad I only have to work a couple of days this week since the singing will most likely keep me awake.

A Low Key Christmas
We spent a very low key Christmas around here. It was just my Mom and I and the dogs. My brother Randy wasn’t able to get home from Austin this year. We ate some food, opened some gifts, watched The Christmas Story a couple of times, and I talked to a bunch of my friends who are far away. Mostly we just hung out.
This is pretty much how we all spent the day. Notice Lindy’s lovely Camo panties. Auntie Phyllis’ Mom made them for her.
She is really very relaxed. The boys of course are not as relaxed.
Poor Henry, he is pouting.
PJ enjoys some lap time with Grandma.

Who are they……another game of Blog Tag
Sherilyn of Winjammin tagged me to play the game of describing the dogs. The idea is to think about each one of your dog’s personalities and decide that if the dog was human, who would they be…either a general description or a person.
Windy (12 year old GSP)
The Diva, need I say more? She is demanding and expect homage. She is materialistic, she wants her stuff and it is HER stuff. She is a creature of comfort, puffy beds, blankets, she will not be cold.
Stoney (8 year old CWC)
The grumpy old guy who lives in the neighborhood. Always yelling at the kids to stay off his grass, yelling at the neighbors to turn that darn music down. Then gets pissed off if he isn’t invited to the block pary. He has his favorites and he will do anything in the world for those he loves.
Wicca (6 year old GSP)
The track star, if she wasn’t running she would be getting into trouble. Needs her routine. Likes her solitary runs but tolerates her roommates. Needs to be adored and always wants her coach praising her efforts. Too pretty for her own good.
Lindy (3 year old CWC)
The bossy, know it all chick from your office. She never shuts up, always wanting to know what you are doing and why are you doing it. Very cute, was probably a cheerleader in High School.
Henry ( 3 year old CWC)
The High School basketball nerd, hasn’t really reached his peak, athletic, sort of smart but more dorky than anything. Sensitive and has his feelings hurt really easily, especially by the girls.
PJ (23 month old CWC)
Mr. Nice guy, looks good, feels good, likes everyone and they like him. Chicks dig him. He thinks everything is just swell. Likes to hang out and be social. Gets good grades, does well at sports, is nice to old people. Thinks life is a blast, especially if there is food involved.

What we have been waiting for!
Lindy has finally come in season and she and PJ should be “celebrating” around the New Year. I’m excited about this upcoming breeding as this will be the 1st litter of Cardigans born at Solstice.
I know some of you have been waiting for news about the PJ x Lindy litter and I’m happy to be able to have some sort timeline now.
Of course we have to get the breeding done, hope she is expecting, whelp the litter and raise the little darlings, wish us luck :-).
I’ll update as things develop.
