Fur Rat
If you don’t like hair don’t get a Cardi! OMG is there hair flying around here. I didn’t thing PJ could lose any more hair but he is, he looks kinda goofy being bald. No doubt that he is still a puppy. Of course Lindy and Hank are also losing coat. I spent a couple of hours vegging on the porch and any time a dog came near me I ran the brush over them. I created a huge fur rat out of the hair from the brush. Of course I’m wearing almost as much on me as they are on them. Hair today, Hair tomorrow!
Memorial Day
Stop in the name of Mud
- A cleaner day! Henry getting ready for the show in Hobbs, NM
It has been so dry and today it was 100 degrees, I think it was a record high, last week we had a record high low. Crazy weather. I haven’t watered all season but the poor fig tree was rather wilted so I filled up the pool and watered the tree. Of course the kids are always thrilled when the pool is filled. Lindy lays in it and goes round in a circle and Henry just jumps in and out, Wicca digs in the water and PJ refuses to get in the pool.
I made lots of mud! Henry of course thinks it is great, he jumps in and out of the pool and then goes and rolls in the dirt, he is a disgusting mess! He is like pig pen but he acts so happy to be doing it.
Nobody got to go to yappy hour today because they were too dirty to go too Grandma’s house. PJ was just dirty from running in the yard.
We are expecting big wind tomorrow so hopefully the water will keep some of the dirt down.
Naked as a Jaybird
PJ held on to some of his hair for the ABQ shows but as of today he is a naked boy! I could not believe how much hair he lost. Of course he doesn’t look like a fat boy anymore. He has all summer to grow it back.
Who are these people?

More Candy news
A new Champion
Leslie called and Ms Candy is now a UKC Champion! They have different requirements and it isn’t a venue I have shown in but Leslie gets to show in them and really likes the venue. I’m proud of their achievements.
Albuquerque Shows
We were big losers in ABQ but we had a good time. Harry’s girls took the points both days so it was like just bringing it home to the family. PJ showed well but he is still very much a puppy. Sunday’s judge was very kind and stopped me to tell me how nice he was and she hoped to see him when he grows up.
Lindy was 4th on Saturday in the Open and walked on Sunday. Henry was the Open class winner but a nice puppy took the points both day.
Recent events
We went to the CWCCA Nationals specialtiy show in Ft. Mitchell, KY. We left El Paso on Friday 4/10 after work. We drove to Odessa and stayed with Laurie for the night and had a nice visits. The dogs behaved and made me proud. We spent Saturday driving across Texas. It was a lovely drive with lots of wild flowers blooming and nice weather. We made it almost to Memphis, TN and left early the next morning for the final drive to Keel Mtn. I was so glad to get to spend time with Leslie and Kathy. Except for the $1000 gas bill it was a wonderful trip. Leslie and Kathy and I had a great time together.
The nationals report, Mr. fancy Pants PJ did very well. He was Runner up Brindle dog in the Megan, there were 17 champions in his class. It was the largest dog class. I showed him that day. Kathy showed him the next day and he was 4th in his sweeps class. His litter brother won the class and later in the regular classes was awarded Winner’s Dog. Once we got to the Best of Breed class PJ made the 1st 3 cuts. We were very proud of him.
Henry left without a ribbon but he looked good and showed well and as always was a fun dog to have around.
