Puppy Count and Countdown
News from Polly is that Pip’s X-ray shows 8 Puppies!!!!!! Polly said she was shocked but excited.
I’m sure if PJ knew what was going on he would be exicited too. I could show him a cookie and he would act excited.
Pups are due on the 5th but since this is Pip’s 1st litter we have no idea what she and mother nature will do. Of course our best hope is a wonderful healthy litter and an easy deliver for Momma Pip (and Polly too). If you are interested in this litter you can see the pedigree on my website and of course there are more puppies than originally expected (Pj you are such a stud) so there maybe some nice choices available.
Other news is that we are now waiting for Lindy to come is season. She “should” be in any time now and the plan is to breeder her to PJ as well. Also Harry has bred his Ali to Oliver so we will have winter puppies all around.
How not to photograph your dogs in a howloween hat
I had this bright idea that I could take photos of the Cardi kids in the witch hat. Here are the results:
Some of Henry……………

Pj, looking embarassed.
Lindy behaved a bit better than the boys.
PJ tries to help Lindy get the hat off.
Then Lindy tries to help Henry get rid of the offending thing.
We also tried the hat on Dublin.
The only one who really likes to wear things on her head is Windy and she thinks everything on her head is a crown.

Wordless Wednesday
Less than a week to go!
You guys thought I was talking about the Presidential election didn’t you?
Nope less than a week to go until Daddy Day, Pips Pups should be arriving around the 5th and we are excited. Polly reports that Pip is getting big and we are hoping for a wonderful litter for them.
Sleeping in a Hotel
I admit I like to stay in hotels if they have comfey beds. They are normally dark, quiet and I sleep really well. The reason I most likely sleep so well is the lack of paws on my head, the lack of burrowing under my covers which leads to cover stealing, there is no whining or scracthing in the night. With all those plus the biggest minus is that the dogs aren’t with me and I miss them. I think I’ll choose a poor nights sleep over lack of the doggy family.
Health Machine!
The Red Hot Candy is turning into the good health machine. Now that she is two Leslie has been doing her health test and she is already PRA and DM clear. Just to add to those good stats her OFA rating came back today and she is ……………OFA EXCELLENT!!!!
Very Very cool.
Candy is slated to be bred to PJ later in the winter. PJ is PRA clear will be tested for DM (as soon as I get off my hiney and swab him, the test kit is on the table) and will have an official OFA Xray done after his 2nd birthday in January. Prelim results for hip Xrays look very promising.
We are looking forward to some pretty and healthy pups!

The Drop Zone
They say that Corgis don’t live far from the fridge and that includes both breeds, Cardis and Pems. It is well documented that they love their food. On a recent trip to the vet I noticed a brochure with a red Cardigan on the cover, what was it advertising? The doggy weight loss drug, “hey, we resemble that remark”!
My gang gets lots of free running exercise and for the most part we don’t worry about weight, everyone stays in good condition but we do live with………………………
PORKY JOE aka PJ or the Pork Product!
PJ, him loves his food! We go to grandma’s house for yappy hour and we also eat dinner over there quite often. PJ has his favorite place to lay, the “drop zone”.
Of course PJ is a smart boy and he knows where the drop zone is located. He also takes up position in front of my stove or the BBQ grill. He doesn’t care if the oven is on, he isn’t deterred by the heat if there is even a slight chance that food will fall from the sky.
UKC news
Update: Here are a couple of the photos proofs that Leslie got from the UKC shows this past weekend, I’ll post the official choice when it is received.
This weekend Leslie and the KeelMtn Corgis were doing UKC shows in Tennessee. I think she had a pretty good weekend. Our Candy girl got a group 2 and group 3. She went group 2 behind the Pem who went Best in Show. Not only did Candy do well but Cheery, Leslie’s young Pem finished her UKC Championship.
